La sonde New Horizons, en route vers Pluton, a photographié ... Triton. En fait, l'engin passe très loin de Neptune (3.75 miliards de km), mais les performances de la caméra LoRRI (Long Range Reconnaissance Imager) sont excellentes et ont permis cette petite image :
